Role Description

The Los Angeles Unified School District seeks an outstanding Assistant Principal, Secondary Counseling Services (APSCS) to collaborate with the principal to lead the students, staff, and community at Business and Entrepreneurship Virtual Academy (BEVA) towards building paths to graduation, academic excellence, and success beyond secondary school.

Business and Entrepreneurship Virtual Academy (BEVA) is an LAUSD K–12 virtual independent study school serving approximately 600 students across Los Angeles. BEVA provides synchronous and asynchronous instruction within a personalized virtual learning environment. Our focus is student achievement, engagement, graduation, college and career readiness, and ensuring all students feel connected to their school community.

Requirements

• Five years of successful full-time public school district certificated service
• A minimum of three years of experience as a teacher in a K-12 program
• No fewer than two years of successful experience in a middle/senior high school counseling office
• Employees with a below-standard Performance Evaluation or Notice of Unsatisfactory Act(s) and/or Suspension are ineligible for application to any promotion process for one calendar year following the issuance of such a Notice.

Benefits

• Salary: 39G - B Basis ($123,453 – $153,769) – 221 paid days
• For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service credit.
• Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to norm allocation and seniority based RIF provisions or due to budget limitations.
