Role Description

We are currently seeking ASL Interpreters (Remote Kenya-Uganda-Ethiopia-Tanzania-Mexico).

Qualifications

• Required minimum one (1) year of professional American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting experience.
• Native or near-native fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
• Excellent receptive and expressive ASL interpreting skills.
• Strong verbal communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret complex conversations across multiple industries and subject matters.
• Experience providing Video Remote Interpreting (VRI).
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and demonstrated cultural competency.
• Ability to maintain neutrality, professionalism, and confidentiality in accordance with the RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Ability to remain calm, impartial, and effective during high-pressure, emotional, or sensitive interactions.
• Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
• Proficiency with computers and the ability to efficiently navigate multiple software applications and video conferencing platforms simultaneously.
• Must be VRI.
• Must be available to support prescheduled calls during their working hours.
