Role Description

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable AP World History Tutor to provide exceptional academic support to high school students preparing for the Advanced Placement World History exam. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic success while working with flexible scheduling from anywhere.

• Deliver engaging one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions focused on AP World History curriculum and exam preparation
• Develop customized lesson plans and study materials tailored to individual student needs and learning styles
• Analyze student performance and provide targeted feedback to improve understanding of historical concepts, themes, and analytical skills
• Guide students through AP exam strategies including document-based questions (DBQ), long essay questions (LEQ), and multiple-choice sections
• Create and implement interactive learning activities that enhance comprehension of world civilizations, cultural exchanges, and historical patterns
• Monitor student progress through regular assessments and adjust teaching methods accordingly
• Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding academic progress and areas for improvement
• Maintain detailed records of tutoring sessions and student development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in History, World History, Social Studies, or related field
• Demonstrated expertise in AP World History curriculum and exam format
• Previous tutoring, teaching, or educational support experience
• Strong knowledge of world civilizations from 1200 CE to present
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Reliable internet connection and appropriate technology for virtual tutoring
• Flexible schedule to accommodate student availability including evenings and weekends

Requirements

• Master's degree in History or Education
• AP World History teaching certification or College Board training
• Experience with online tutoring platforms and educational technology
• Proven track record of helping students achieve high AP exam scores
• Multilingual capabilities to support diverse student populations
• Experience working with students from various cultural and academic backgrounds

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
• Experience with digital whiteboard and screen sharing tools
• Familiarity with learning management systems and educational apps
• Ability to create and share digital study materials and resources
• Basic troubleshooting skills for common technical issues during virtual sessions

Benefits
