Role Description

Mid-America University is seeking a part-time faculty member with experience in teaching either in person or online for undergraduate and graduate courses in finance and accounting. The candidate must have a strong Christian background.

• Teach courses within the School of Business as assigned by the Chair and/or Finance and Accounting Program Director
• Provide quality instruction by following the instructor’s agreement contract criteria for performance
• Submit course grades and perform other administrative duties as required
• Effectively communicate with the Chair and/or Finance and Accounting Program Director regularly
• Perform other such duties as may be deemed appropriate

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent communication, both oral and written, and organizational skills necessary for the position
• Must possess excellent communication skills to work effectively with individuals and groups
• Must be flexible in scheduling
• Demonstrate effective teaching skills
• Prefer teaching experience in teaching finance and accounting courses

Requirements

• Doctorate in business or related field in finance or accounting preferred
• Must have at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in finance or accounting
• Experience with interactive computer programs (e.g., Zoom)
• Experience with either Canvas, D2L, or Blackboard - MACU utilizes Canvas

Physical Demands

• Operate a computer with a keyboard, pointing device, webcam, and speakers
• Stand and sit for extended periods of time
• Walk around the classroom and to/from parking lots and buildings
• Stand, bend, and crouch
• Reach, grasp, move, and hold objects
• Verbally express information or instructions
• Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 20 pounds
• Exercise clear vision at 20 inches or less and adjust focus
• Judge distances and spatial relationships

Work Environment

On-ground or online, depending on the instructor's contract.
