[Hiring] Adjunct, Psychology @Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates

Role Description

The Saint Joseph's Psychology Department is home to a highly productive group of scholars and teachers, and the Psychology major is one of the most popular on campus. We are looking for the support of highly qualified, capable, and experienced adjunct instructors who can staff one or two courses each semester on an 'as needed' basis. These courses may be offered weekdays, evenings, and/or online.

Adjunct/affiliate faculty are expected to:

• Teach the course(s) they have been assigned
• Prepare course materials
• Provide support and guidance to students
• Submit grades
• Offer one hour of office hours each week for each course

Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional experience, and instructional background. More information about SJU’s academic programs is available online at: www.sju.edu/degree-programs .

Qualifications

• Applicants are expected to have completed a Ph.D. or a Psy.D. in Psychology.
• Under some circumstances, a Master of Science or a Master of Arts degree in Psychology may be acceptable.
• Under some circumstances, an advanced degree in a discipline other than Psychology may be acceptable.
• Applicants must have teaching experience.

Requirements

• Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in experimental or clinical psychology and have substantial university-level teaching experience.
• Preference will be given to candidates who are flexible in their availability and can teach during the day, as opposed to exclusively in the evening or exclusively online.
• May require standing for long periods of time.
• May require talking for long periods of time.
• May require carrying course materials.
