Role Description

Are you passionate about shaping future health care leaders and helping students discover their purpose? The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions at GCU is seeking knowledgeable, mission-driven Adjunct Faculty to teach Nursing Informatics online.

This course focuses on the methods and technologies used to acquire, process, and analyze patient data, emphasizing information and communication technologies that support the documentation of care and effective communication among health team members at all system levels. This course provides learners with an understanding of the importance of professional and ethical standards pertaining to the regulation and security of health information.

What You Will Do

• Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction using innovative teaching methods and current industry technologies
• Maintain compliance with accreditation standards
• Model the holistic tenets of the nursing profession and uphold the University’s mission and pillars
• Facilitate meaningful classroom discussions, assess student learning, and prepare students for leadership roles in health care
• Support program initiatives and demonstrate alignment with the philosophy and direction of the University
• Provide a positive example by supporting GCU’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission

Qualifications

• A Masters (or higher) in Nursing or a Bachelor's in Nursing with a graduate degree in a relevant health care discipline. Graduate degree must be from an accredited university.
• Relevant work experience in health care policy, nursing leadership, research, or nursing management preferred.
• Must have an active, current, unencumbered RN license with three (3) or more years of direct patient care nursing experience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships with students
• Proficiency in English, grammar, and APA writing
• Commitment to modeling GCU’s mission and values
