Course: Advanced Body Fluid and DNA Analysis

• Introduce serological testing of blood, semen, and saliva through a discussion of various presumptive and confirmatory chemical tests.
• Cover DNA profiling of various sample types, focusing on the processes used to obtain a DNA profile: extraction, quantification, amplification, and electrophoresis.
• Discuss the comparison of DNA profiles, report writing, and DNA mixture interpretation.

• Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions.
• Engage students in learning course objectives and topics.
• Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom.
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Doctorate in Forensic Science or a closely-related field or a doctorate in Molecular Biology.
• Minimum: Master’s in Forensic Science.
