[Hiring] Adjunct Faculty: Cyber Security @University of Maine System

Role Description

The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking to hire fully remote Adjunct Faculty members who are subject matter experts in Cyber Security. YourPace invites applicants to be Adjunct Faculty members to be Instructors of Record and/or develop courses from a wide range of disciplines and professional skills for undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Teaching assignments may begin at any of our six or eight-week session start dates per year.

• Cyber forensics
• Cyber risk management
• Applied cryptography
• Penetration testing
• Secure network administration
• Cybersecurity law
• Other subjects that may be relevant to the major

All YourPace competencies are fully online and asynchronous, and interpersonal interactions with students are expected. YourPace Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on agreements as per the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreements/MOU.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity or a related field
• Demonstrated academic and/or professional experience in cybersecurity or a closely related technical field
• Demonstrated knowledge and applied experience in one or more of the following fields: network security, digital forensics, penetration testing, risk management, or systems security

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Cybersecurity or a related field (preferred)
• Prior college-level teaching experience in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field (preferred)
• Experience teaching in online, asynchronous, competency-based, or other nontraditional instructional environments (preferred)
• Current or recent industry certification such as CISSP, CASP+/SecurityX, CISM, CISA, CCNA/CCNP, or comparable credentials (preferred)
• Experience with learning management systems, particularly Brightspace/D2L (preferred)
• Experience with virtual labs, cloud environments, virtualization, network simulation, cybersecurity ranges, or other technologies used to deliver hands-on cybersecurity education remotely (preferred)

Technology Requirements

YourPace Adjunct Faculty are required to have the appropriate technology to teach in a fully online environment. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Computer (laptop) with appropriate amounts of processing speed
• High-speed internet connection
• Webcam
• Microphone
