Role Description

The Academic Support Specialist is working closely with the Programme Leader for Fashion Styling courses in order to support with the administration of the programme and the organisation with the academic activities. The role supports the Programme Leader in the supervision of the progress of the programme and its performance, including its efficiency and the students’ satisfaction, whilst coordinating the academic activities related to the course and tutors.

• Ensure the management of the admin programme related, by supporting the check of monthly lessons and activities delivered by tutors.
• Support with the organisation of the programme.
• Support the functions and processes associated with the delivery, monitoring and assessment of academic programmes to the required quality standard.
• Effectively liaise with staff in relation to the co-ordination and management of academic timetables and the availability of teaching space.
• Assist with providing timely and accurate management information as required by the Programme Leader.
• Maintain an accurate record system of all the documents related to the programme.
• Support the pedagogic activity.
• Liaise with tutors as needed.
• Attend meetings as required, orientations and open days.
• Complete any other tasks assigned as appropriate with the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master Degree.
• Previous experience working in a similar or administrative support position.
• Experience in working in creative and media environments would be beneficial.
• Experience of dealing sensitively with a range of enquiries and needs.
• Customer service skills.
• Problem solving skills.
• Excellent communications skills and knowledge of the English language, written and spoken.
• Knowledge of the UK Higher Education system.
• Knowledge of Fashion Styling as a discipline or strong interest for it.
• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
• Knowledge of the MAC system is highly beneficial.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
