Role Description

The Academic Coach serves as the primary contact for learners from matriculation (orientation) through the completion of their program. The Academic Coach manages a pipeline of learners by:

• Coaching, motivating, and mentoring learners
• Removing barriers and owning issues through resolution
• Providing strategies for completion and progress
• Helping learners clarify key decision-points
• Identifying solutions and alternatives aligned with learners’ motivations and goals

The Academic Coach utilizes strong relationship-building and influencing skills resulting in positive learner behaviors and outcomes, contributing to overall learner success and persistence.

They are responsible for providing personalized interactions to assist learners in successfully navigating the path to achieve their educational goals, including:

• Providing outreach at key milestones
• Assisting with overcoming obstacles encountered by learners
• Exploring needs and providing personalized solutions

The Academic Coach collaborates with faculty and other University partners to address learner concerns and define options for academic success.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of professional experience using advanced coaching, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with adult learners and/or faculty preferred
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferred
• Doctoral degree from an accredited institution preferred for Doctoral Advisors
• Specific degree from an accredited institution may be preferred based on school and program assignment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must be able to spend significant time working at a computer and on the phone
• Must be flexible in work hours/schedule
• Position may require work above 40 hours per week during peak periods

The expected salary range for this position is $22.25 - $33.75 per hour.
