Role Description
We are looking for a motivated System Administrator to be part of our engineering team at Papers. Technologies that you will work on include Linux/Ubuntu, GitLab CI, Docker, Ansible, GCP, Kubernetes, Nginx, backups, and monitoring tools. You will be responsible for the stability and scalability of our infrastructure, embracing open-source solutions. You will also be involved in pager-duty rotations to ensure the high availability of our services.
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure server infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Manage and optimize Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters for high availability and performance.
- Use Ansible for configuration management and automation.
- Implement and manage cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Configure and manage Nginx servers.
- Ensure robust backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor infrastructure using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
- Participate in pager-duty rotations to handle incidents and ensure uptime.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of new services and features.
- Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- Proficiency with Linux/Ubuntu.
- Strong experience with GitLab CI for continuous integration and delivery.
- Proficiency with Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Ansible.
- Good understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Experience with Nginx for web server management.
- Knowledge of backup strategies and tools.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Verbal and written fluency in English.
- Self-organized and autonomous, with a get-things-done mentality.
Requirements
- Understanding of security hardening practices.
- Previous experience in the security sector.
- Contributions to open-source projects (link to GitHub repo in your CV).
