Role Description
We are building the Verantos Evidence Platform on AWS with Snowflake, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and a mix of containerized services. We need a Senior Platform Engineer who can take ownership of the platform's infrastructure, CI/CD, and developer experience. You'll be part of the Verantos Evidence Platform team and collaborate with DevOps teammates across the company.
This is a small, lean team where infrastructure decisions have an outsized impact on everyone's productivity. The role is as much organizational as it is technical:
-
Communicating changes before they land
-
Getting buy-in
-
Building systems the whole team can operate independently
This is a fully remote, US-based role.
Responsibilities
-
Simplify and maintain the CI/CD pipelines for a multi-project monorepo, ensuring they are predictable, fast, and operable by the broader engineering team without specialized knowledge.
-
Plan and execute infrastructure changes incrementally, with clear rollout steps, validation strategies, and rollback plans that are communicated to the team before work begins.
-
Build and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, monitoring, and alerting that enable other engineers to independently troubleshoot and respond to production issues.
-
Collaborate with DevOps teammates across the organization to align on shared infrastructure standards including network design, permissions models, and deployment patterns.
-
Contribute directly to application code in Python and Typescript when platform concerns cross into the application layer, such as database performance, service configuration, or integration points.
-
Partner with QA to ensure infrastructure changes are properly tested and that the team has confidence in what's being shipped to each environment.
-
Actively use and champion AI tools to accelerate infrastructure and developer experience work.
Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE, with meaningful time spent in environments where reliability and compliance matter.
-
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, or similar), including comfort with networking fundamentals like load balancing, TLS termination, and proxy configuration.
-
Solid Python skills and willingness to work across the stack when platform concerns extend into application code.
-
Has built and maintained CI/CD pipelines that other engineers actually trust, and has executed infrastructure changes incrementally rather than through high-risk big-bang rollouts.
-
Experience working in a small team where you had to balance speed, simplicity, and doing things right, rather than defaulting to enterprise-scale tooling.
-
Actively uses AI tools in daily work to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards for security and code quality.
-
Communicates clearly and works effectively across engineering, QA, and compliance stakeholders.
Nice to Have
-
Experience with healthcare data infrastructure or compliance frameworks such as HIPAA or HITRUST.
-
Familiarity with Snowflake administration and performance tuning in a platform that serves both transactional and analytical workloads.
-
Experience collaborating effectively across time zones and cultures in a fully remote environment.
Benefits
-
Flexible work location to support employees in the new pandemic-shaped reality.
-
Medical, dental, vision benefits.
-
401K plan with employer match.
-
Work-life balance.
-
Opportunity to work with healthcare technology visionaries.

The salary range for this role is $180,000β$220,000, plus benefits.
