[Hiring] Senior DevOps Engineer @Oriient

Role Description

We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer with a strong software development background, someone who splits their time roughly equally between writing production Node.js code and owning our cloud infrastructure. You will develop backend services and internal tools in Node.js, while owning the production and non-production environments, CI/CD and MLOps pipelines, and will be a key member in the company development.

You will play a key role in a small team of top notch developers and researchers, maturing the world's most advanced IndoorGPS platform with highly advanced real-time features as well as massive amounts of data.

Key Responsibilities

• Development (Node.js): Develop and maintain backend services, APIs and internal tools in Node.js / TypeScript, contributing production code directly to the product alongside the development team.
• Automation & Tooling: Build automation, platform tooling and integrations in code (Node.js, Python) that improve developer productivity, enhance product quality and decrease time-to-release.
• Production and System Ownership: Own the production and non-production systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Set responsible practices for the entire lifecycle of large-scale development and algorithm-centric teams.
• Infrastructure & CI/CD: Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, MLOps systems, and infrastructure as code.
• Cost and Security Optimization: Proactively identify and implement improvements to system security and efficiency, optimizing workloads for cost-effectiveness across all environments.
• Monitoring and Incident Response: Develop and utilize Oriient's monitoring and logging systems to investigate customer issues and anomalies, performing deep root cause analysis in both code and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of combined experience in software development and DevOps / SRE roles, managing high-scale, production-grade cloud environments.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing production code in Node.js (services and APIs, not only scripts).
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills; scripting in Python and Bash.
• Deep expertise in one or more major cloud providers (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes and Docker.
• Proficiency in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Solid experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack / Loki).
• Expert ability to understand complex microservice architectures, troubleshoot production issues, and perform deep root cause analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a backend developer before moving into DevOps.
• Experience designing backend / microservices architecture.
• Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes orchestration and administration.
• Experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem.
• Experience with MLOps or large-scale data pipelines.
• Prior experience in a startup or high-growth technology company.
