[Hiring] Platform Engineer II @Teamworks

Role Description

Teamworks Platform Engineering owns the infrastructure that keeps 6,500+ sports organizations running, and we're expanding that foundation into high-performance tactical environments. We're hiring a Platform Engineer II to support day-to-day operations and maintenance of our AWS GovCloud infrastructure as we grow our footprint in this space.

You'll work alongside a platform team that serves application teams across the organization, handling provisioning requests, managing deployments, and driving improvements to observability and stability over time.

What You'll Do

• Own day-to-day operations and maintenance of our AWS GovCloud environment, including EKS cluster management, EC2, RDS/Aurora, ElastiCache, S3, and IAM.
• Manage the deployment of new features and fixes across commercial and GovCloud environments, coordinating with application teams through structured intake and ad hoc request processes.
• Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules, Helm charts, and CI/CD pipeline templates (GitLab CI) that enforce organizational standards for scalability, compliance, and observability.
• Diagnose cross-cutting infrastructure issues, including networking misconfigurations, IAM permission boundaries, and Kubernetes scheduling failures, evaluating blast radius and downstream team impact before proposing solutions.
• Partner with application teams to translate platform changes, deprecations, and new standards into clear, actionable guidance that reduces friction across the organization.
• Drive improvements to environment observability and stability using Datadog.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and take full production ownership of the systems you support.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Linux administration in production environments, including RHEL-based system management.
• Proven hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS preferred), Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI or comparable tooling.
• Experience deploying and managing infrastructure in AWS.
• Strong consultative and cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to translate platform changes into clear guidance for application teams.

Requirements

• Experience working in AWS GovCloud, FedRAMP, or IL4-regulated environments.
• Background in defense contracting or government environments.
• Experience with configuration management and automation tooling, including Ansible, AWX, and Packer.
• Familiarity with Python or shell scripting for operational tooling, and experience with Datadog or a comparable observability platform.
