[Hiring] Manager, DevOps Engineering @Case IQ

Today - Case IQ is hiring a remote Manager, DevOps Engineering. πŸ’Έ Salary: cad 150,000 - 180,000 per year πŸ“Location: Northern America

Role Description

We are seeking a Manager of DevOps Engineering to lead our DevOps function as a combination of Platform Team and Enabling Team, aligned to Team Topologies principles, across four product lines. This role is responsible for defining and executing a modern DevOps strategy (β‰ˆ60%), while remaining hands-on (β‰ˆ40%) to actively guide engineers and development teams in adopting modern practices. The DevOps organization exists to enable fast flow, reduce cognitive load for product teams, and provide a reliable, self-service platform for delivery and operations.

The Manager of DevOps Engineering will lead 3+ full-time DevOps Engineers and coordinate external DevOps service providers, partnering closely with Architecture, Development Managers, QA/Test Automation, and Product Management to ensure DevOps capabilities are scalable, discoverable, and adopted across teams.

At Case IQ, AI is part of how we build. We look for engineers who can use AI-assisted development and agentic workflows with strong technical judgment: defining clear intent and constraints, validating outputs, protecting customer data, and keeping humans accountable for production decisions. You will help establish practical patterns for responsible AI use across discovery, design, implementation, testing, observability, and operations.

As a Platform Team:

  • Provide internal, self-service DevOps capabilities that product teams can use independently to build, deploy, and operate software safely and efficiently.

As an Enabling Team:

  • Temporarily embed with product teams to help them adopt modern DevOps practices, remove bottlenecks, and upskill teamsβ€”then step back once capabilities are internalized.

This role ensures the organization does not rely on DevOps as a centralized delivery gate but instead uses DevOps to accelerate all teams.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience managing or leading engineers
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Expertise in CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, etc.)
  • Expertise in Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.)
  • Experience supporting multiple product teams or product lines
  • Demonstrated success improving delivery speed and reliability through enablement, not centralization

Requirements

  • Define and evolve a DevOps Platform strategy that serves four product lines with shared, reusable capabilities
  • Establish platform standards and golden paths for:
    • CI/CD pipelines and release orchestration
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
    • Cloud architecture, scalability, and cost management
    • Observability, logging, metrics, and alerting
    • Secure-by-default environments and pipelines
  • Ensure the platform minimizes cognitive load for development teams while enabling autonomy
  • Partner with Architecture to align DevOps platform capabilities with long-term technical direction
  • Prioritize platform investments based on flow efficiency, reliability, and developer experience
  • Maintain a high standard of security awareness, ensuring data protection, compliance with company policies, and adherence to industry standards in all aspects of work.

Benefits

  • Work remotely within a flexible work environment (our team spans the US and Canada)
  • Competitive company-paid benefits plan starting day 1!
  • Generous professional development budget
  • RRSP/401k matching program
  • Half-day Fridays in the summer
