Role Description
As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will be responsible to provide weekday coverage for management, support, and troubleshooting of our Linux-based infrastructure that powers our CDN. This role is critical to ensuring that our CDN operates with minimal latency, highest availability and maximum throughput.
- Monitor and maintain virtual and physical Linux servers, ensuring system performance and availability.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based systems and software.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for system issues, working closely with other teams and customers.
- Implement system updates, patches, and security measures to maintain system integrity and security.
- Improve infrastructure and customer documentation, update processes and procedures to ensure effective knowledge management and transfer.
- Improve automation by adopting DevOps principles and contributing to various internal configuration management tools and projects.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, Debian) and system administration tasks.
- Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), common web serving technologies (Apache, nginx, varnish, squid, haproxy, etc.) and basic security practices.
- Knowledge of HTTP, caching, CDN architecture, DevOps principles is highly desired.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on providing high-quality customer service.
Requirements
- Working Monday to Friday 8 Hour shifts and sometimes Saturday and Sunday 12 Hours shifts.
