[Hiring] Lead Engineer, Cloud Engineering @Jonas Software

Role Description

The Lead Engineer is the senior technical leader for Cloud Engineering in Santiago. This is a hands-on role:

• Design and build AWS infrastructure and automation.
• Mentor engineers.
• Own delivery of major platform workstreams.
• Lead the team's adoption of AI-assisted and agentic engineering.

Current work includes:

• AWS Managed Services (AMS) Advanced-to-Accelerate migration.
• Amazon EKS upgrades.
• Multi-region landing zones and networking.
• AI services built on Amazon Bedrock.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in DevOps, cloud infrastructure or platform engineering, including 2+ years leading engineers or technical workstreams.
• Deep hands-on AWS experience: IAM, EC2, VPC, Transit Gateway, ALB/NLB, CloudFront, S3, RDS, ECS/Fargate, EKS, Lambda, Step Functions, Systems Manager and CloudWatch.
• Expert infrastructure as code with CloudFormation and/or Terraform; strong Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) experience.
• Strong Python and Bash scripting; CI/CD pipelines as code (Jenkins preferred) with Git, Jira and Confluence.
• Practical, daily use of AI-assisted engineering tools and a clear view of how AI agents can safely automate infrastructure and operations.
• Experience with configuration management (Puppet or similar), Linux, observability tools (Datadog or similar) and incident response.
• Strong grasp of cloud security in regulated environments; fluency in English and Spanish; degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Requirements

• AWS Professional certification (DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect).
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock, LLM APIs, agent frameworks, RAG or Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Experience with AWS Control Tower, Organizations, IAM Identity Center or AWS Managed Services (AMS).
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server on AWS, and with financial services or other regulated industries.
