Role Description
We are seeking a motivated Junior Back-End/DevOps Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will support the development and maintenance of back-end services, cloud-based infrastructure, and automated deployment pipelines. This position is ideal for candidates looking to grow their skills in modern backend development, AWS cloud technologies, and DevOps practices within a collaborative environment.
Job Duties:

Assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining back-end services and applications.

Help build and maintain RESTful APIs using standard API design principles and OpenAPI specifications.

Work with AWS cloud services such as Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and S3.

Participate in DevOps workflows to support development, testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.

Help develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deployments.

Assist in writing and maintaining basic Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or similar tools.

Use Git and GitHub for branching, pull requests, code reviews, and collaboration.

Support database integrations and write simple queries for relational or NoSQL systems.

Assist in implementing logging, metrics, dashboards, and troubleshooting application issues.

Learn and apply secure coding practices and responsible dependency management.

Contribute to code reviews and help write automated tests.

Maintain clear, accurate technical documentation for APIs, cloud resources, deployment processes, and troubleshooting steps.

Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.

Assist with production deployments, issue investigation, and bug fixes.

Stay current with emerging back-end, cloud, and DevOps tools and best practices.
Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of experience in back-end development using Python, Java, Node.js, or similar languages (internships or projects welcome).

Minimum 2 years of hands-on Python experience.

Minimum 1 year of experience building or integrating RESTful APIs using standard API design principles or OpenAPI.

Minimum 1 year of experience using Git/GitHub for source control, branching, and pull requests.

Minimum 1 year of experience working with relational or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.

Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
Requirements

Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Exposure to AWS services such as CloudWatch, S3, IAM, ECS, or ECR.

Familiarity with microservices or serverless concepts (general understanding only).

Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.

Basic experience with container registries and Docker workflows.

Experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.

Awareness of automated code scanning and static analysis tools.

Basic understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript (optional).

Ability to produce simple architecture diagrams or workflow documentation.

Interest in improving development processes and learning new tools or technologies.

Proficiency with common office productivity applications.
Benefits

Starting pay range for this remote role is $75,168 - $156,600.

Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidateโs actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
