Role Description
The DevOps Specialist III is a senior technical expert responsible for architecting, implementing, and driving strategic improvements to Intelerad's cloud infrastructure, automation platforms, and DevOps practices. This role serves as a technical leader and subject matter expert, working across engineering, operations, and security teams to deliver highly reliable, secure, and scalable medical imaging solutions. The DevOps Specialist III establishes technical standards, leads complex initiatives, and drives innovation in infrastructure automation and operational excellence for healthcare IT applications supporting radiology and enterprise imaging workflows.
Key Responsibilities

Architect and Drive Infrastructure Strategy: Design and implement enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure solutions, establish architectural patterns and technical standards, and drive strategic initiatives that enhance platform reliability, scalability, and security across Intelerad's medical imaging ecosystem.

Lead Advanced Automation and DevOps Transformation: Architect and implement sophisticated automation frameworks, CI/CD platforms, and infrastructure-as-code solutions that enable rapid, secure software delivery while establishing best practices and driving DevOps maturity across the organization.

Ensure Enterprise Reliability and Performance: Establish site reliability engineering practices, implement comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions, lead critical incident response efforts, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that maintain exceptional system availability and performance.

Champion Security, Compliance, and Risk Management: Lead implementation of security architecture, compliance automation, and risk mitigation strategies for healthcare IT systems, ensuring adherence to HIPAA, SOC 2, and industry regulatory requirements while driving security-first culture.

Provide Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Serve as a technical authority and mentor to DevOps engineers and broader engineering teams, conduct architecture reviews, drive knowledge sharing initiatives, and influence technical direction and organizational DevOps capabilities.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience

6+ years of experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, cloud architecture, or infrastructure engineering

Expert-level experience with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

Advanced expertise in containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, service mesh)

Proven experience architecting and implementing enterprise-scale CI/CD platforms and automation frameworks

Expert proficiency with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Pulumi)

Advanced scripting and programming skills (Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, or similar)

Deep expertise in Linux/Unix systems, networking, and distributed systems architecture

Experience establishing observability, monitoring, and incident management practices

Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence cross-functional teams

Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and system design capabilities

Outstanding communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills
Requirements

Significant experience in healthcare IT, medical imaging (PACS, RIS, VNA), or highly regulated industries

Experience with DICOM, HL7, and healthcare interoperability standards

Deep knowledge of security frameworks, compliance automation, and vulnerability management

Expertise with observability platforms and SRE practices (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, PagerDuty, OpenTelemetry)

Experience with database technologies, performance optimization, and data platform engineering

Knowledge of microservices architecture, API gateways, and service reliability patterns

Experience with chaos engineering, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning

Track record of driving DevOps transformation and cultural change

Advanced certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CKA/CKAD, or similar)

Contributions to open-source projects or technical community leadership

On-call support for critical production systems is required

May serve as technical escalation point for high-severity incidents

Compensation
The base pay for this position ranges from $90,000/year USD to $120,000/year USD within any geographic market in the US. Pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Intelerad is a total compensation company. Pay is dependent on the position offered. Bonus and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, retirement, PTO, and/or other benefits.
