Role Description
We are seeking a Data DevOps Platform Engineer to support the stability, consistency, and reliability of our data platforms across multiple environments, including Dev, QA, and Prod across On Prem (SQL Server) and Cloud (GCP) environments. This role sits within the business team and plays a critical part in ensuring that the database structures, data, and deployment process remain aligned as changes are developed and promoted through the environment lifecycle.

Combine strong SQL and data platform experience with a solid understanding of DevOps principles.

Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, project managers, and SQL Devs.

Standardize processes, reduce risk during releases, and improve overall efficiency of feature and defect delivery.

Manage environment synchronization and support release and deployment activities.

Identify and resolve DDL drift and drive automation across the data lifecycle.

Contribute to improving governance, documentation, and repeatability of processes.
Qualifications

4β7 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or DevOps-related roles.

Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server (writing queries, understanding indexing, and managing schema changes).

Experience working across multiple environments (Dev, QA, Production) with responsibility for code and/or data promotion.

Proficiency with version control systems; Github, including branching and merge strategies.

Practical experience with deployment processes and/or CI/CD pipelines.

Ability to identify and resolve schema drift, data inconsistencies, and environment misalignment issues.

Experience writing basic automation scripts in Python.

Solid understanding of release management and change control processes.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and business teams.
Requirements

Experience supporting hybrid environments, including cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform.

Familiarity with ETL/data pipeline tools (e.g., SSIS or similar).

Exposure to infrastructure or platform concepts (not full ownership).

Experience improving or implementing deployment automation and environment standardization.

Background in data warehousing or analytics platforms.
Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent practical experience.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is: $101,970.00 - $203,940.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
