[Hiring] Technical Lead - Data Engineering @System Soft Technologies

Role Description

Client is seeking a Technical Lead for our client, a Large Pharma/Med Device Company. As the Orthopedics business unit separates into a standalone company, this techno-managerial role will provide technical oversight and leadership for a team of 7-8 offshore developers supporting digital data engineering products (including last-mile and data foundations workstreams).

The focus is on infrastructure, computation, cost management, and guiding the current Azure/Databricks environment while preparing for the transition toward AWS. US Eastern Time coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Databricks (SQL, PySpark), Azure services and storage layers, Python, Power BI, and SQL Server
• Ability to act as an SME and apply this knowledge to a future AWS environment, with focus on infrastructure, performance, and cost optimization
• Experience supervising developers (backend and frontend), resolving technical blockers, and effectively delegating work
• Proactive, self-paced, quick learner with strong communication and collaboration skills

Requirements

• Prior experience managing offshore teams (India/IST preferred; teams of 7-20)
• Hands-on experience with medallion architecture or data foundations initiatives
• AWS expertise and collaboration with platform/infrastructure or vendor teams
• Background in regulated, pharmaceutical, or medical device environments
