[Hiring] Staff Data Scientist @The Predictive Index

Role Description

The Predictive Index is looking for a Staff Data Scientist to establish the data science function from the ground up in a new venture. You'll be defining the discipline, setting the methods, the standards, and the infrastructure that everything downstream depends on.

• Own the evidence layer of the venture, end to end.
• Set the standard for rigor.
• Build the foundation from scratch.
• Identify what actually drives outcomes.
• Run the experiments that decide direction.
• Shape strategy, not just inform it.
• Extend the function over time.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of substantial, staff-level experience as a data scientist in product environments.
• A track record of building product analytics from scratch and owning them end to end.
• Deep expertise running product experiments with statistical rigor.
• The ability to operate as the sole subject matter expert.
• Fluency translating ambiguous business questions into tractable data problems.
• Comfort working at the frontier of research, product roadmap, and go-to-market strategy.
• A graduate degree (or equivalent applied experience) in a quantitative field.
• Passion for using AI in every aspect of your work.
• A builder's mindset and the seniority to match.

Requirements

• Experience in product environments.
• Comfort in coding and standing up instrumentation, pipelines, and dashboards.
• Ability to defend methodology and teach it to non-quantitative audiences.
• Ability to set direction without a senior peer to check your work.
• Ability to bring order to ambiguity.

Benefits

• Full access to PI’s benefits package, including unlimited PTO and 401(k).
• Flexibility to work at the Westwood, MA headquarters, remotely, or a mix of both.
