Role Description
This role involves providing model-driven insights to business partners as a Senior Data Scientist.
- Lead the development and implementation of data-driven models and algorithms to enhance the underwriting process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, actuarial, and technology, to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to extract actionable insights and support decision-making.
- Develop predictive models to assess risk and improve underwriting accuracy.
- Implement machine learning techniques to automate and optimize underwriting workflows.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data science and machine learning.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists and analysts.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise reports and presentations.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (8+ years) as a Data Scientist in the life/health insurance industry.
- Knowledge of life insurance underwriting processes and regulations is a strong plus.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Experience in utilizing machine learning and AI on life insurance underwriting transformation.
