[Hiring] Senior Manager, Data Science & Analytics @Sunrun

Role Description

Sunrun is seeking a highly technical, efficiency-minded Senior Manager of Data Science & Analytics to lead, reshape, and scale our business intelligence and analytics functions. You will serve as the single point of leadership to centralize this function, streamline the organization, and uplevel the team.

• Define what analytics should be built across Sunrun and how to scale them.
• Lead the rollout of Sunrun’s core Data Hub and centralized SQL layer.
• Establish metric definitions, governance, and scoring standardizations across the entire company.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Applied Data Science.
• 3+ years in a team lead or management role overseeing analysts.
• Proven track record at Big Tech (Meta, Stripe, etc.) or high-growth tech startups.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (preferred).

Requirements

• Exceptional, expert-level SQL skills and deep understanding of data warehousing architecture (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks).
• Hands-on experience building/governing a semantic/SQL layer.
• Proficiency in Python or R for exploratory data analysis and statistical modeling.
• Deep experience with modern BI platforms (Tableau, Looker, Sigma, etc.).
• Highly focused on efficiency, lean execution, and measurable business outcomes.
• Comfort operating with low structure, wearing multiple hats, and navigating organizational change management.

Benefits

• Starting salary/wage for this opportunity: $194,859.61 to $259,812.81.
• Compensation decisions will not be based on a candidate's salary history.
