Role Description

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to join our Digital Engineering Solutions team. This individual will be a part of the Development group within the Digital Engineering Solutions team. Their responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring that business needs are translated into actionable strategies and changes in accordance with business objectives and customer requirements.
• Optimizing processes to facilitate the delivery of projects.
• Making strategic decisions.
• Engaging in research and development and providing guidance and oversight to the AEC practices at CDM Smith.
• Engaging in new product research, testing, and the incubation of innovative ideas.

The ideal candidate should possess an extensive background in:

• Analyzing business processes.
• Communicating with stakeholders.
• Providing recommendations and identifying areas for improvement.

The following are the Key responsibilities for this position:

• Collaborating closely with higher management and stakeholders to collect both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Gathering and evaluating information from multiple sources.
• Identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or redundancies in workflows by mapping out current business processes.
• Ensuring that functional requirements capture and align with business needs.
• Creating training materials and user manuals to assist employees in adapting to new procedures or systems.
• Holding training sessions to ensure staff members are competent and ready to use the new solution.
• Identifying areas for development and assisting the project team in anticipating potential challenges.
• Proactively addressing potential problems to help implement changes smoothly.
• Preventing scope creep by evaluating unplanned features.
• Establishing a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required, contingent on specific duties and responsibilities.

• Proficient at identifying and resolving business challenges.
• Ability to use data visualization to convey complicated information.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Good understanding of programming, testing, and SQL usage.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others, including technical personnel and executive members.
• Excellent research skills to comprehend any project and investigate all possible outcomes.
• Ability to create and revise documentation at every stage of a project's lifespan.
• Ability to adjust to changing situations while dealing with ambiguity and complexity.

Benefits

• Pay Range Min: CAD $106,350.00
• Pay Range Max: CAD $175,469.00
• All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary.
