Role Description

Venice is hiring a Senior Data Scientist who operates as a tactical analytics leader to be the authoritative source on data at Venice. You will:

• Own the data, end to end.
• Decide where data lives, how it flows, and how it's queried.
• Build the infrastructure, tooling, and dashboards that make you the expert on company data.
• Consolidate data access to ensure the business accesses data consistently.
• Support experiment tracking by helping track experiments and building systems for monitoring tests.
• Ask and answer strategic questions about the business and products, being honest about uncertainty.
• Build the analytical foundation by assessing existing tools and identifying gaps.
• Partner across the organization to bring insights to internal stakeholders.
• Protect the privacy line by being the analytical voice against unnecessary data collection.
• Separate signal from noise in a fast-moving product environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of demonstrated experience in data leadership.
• Product-minded with engineering depth.
• Ability to translate business questions into analysis and recommendations.
• Experience working with messy or constrained data environments.
• Fluent in SQL and capable of building data pipelines, models, and tooling.
• Familiarity with Rust, TypeScript, Go, and Python.
• Experience with PostHog for product analytics and Postgres for data storage.
• Clear communication skills, especially regarding uncertainty.
• Respect for privacy and understanding of ethical data collection.
• Ability to iterate quickly and leverage AI agents for analysis.
