[Hiring] Senior Data Scientist @Medely

Role Description

We’re looking for a seasoned Data Scientist to help solve high-impact business problems across Medely’s rapidly growing healthcare marketplace. As a senior member of the Data team, you’ll shape product strategy, lead large-scale initiatives end-to-end, and partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to build science-driven solutions that improve marketplace performance. This is a highly strategic role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves solving complex problems, and wants to directly influence how a category-defining marketplace evolves.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Identify meaningful business and product opportunities that are currently unaddressed, and develop the insights, models, and systems needed to drive measurable impact.
• Build advanced machine learning, optimization, and analytics solutions that improve marketplace efficiency at scale.
• Design and execute experiments and observational studies that generate actionable business and product insights.
• Partner cross-functionally to define key metrics, improve logging and instrumentation, and build data visualizations and diagnostic tools that enable smarter decision-making.
• Deliver ad hoc analyses and investigate performance trends, operational issues, and metrics-based opportunities with minimal guidance.
• Translate complex analyses into clear recommendations and compelling narratives that influence strategic direction across the organization.
• Help orient teams around data-driven product development and foster a culture of thoughtful experimentation and rigorous decision-making.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or M.S. in a quantitative field with 3+ years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or a related discipline.
• Strong foundation in experimental design and analysis, with the ability to translate findings into meaningful business or product decisions.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience leveraging business intelligence tools to uncover insights and guide strategy.
• Competency in Python, R, or another scripting language for data analysis, modeling, and problem-solving.
• Ability to distill complex data into clear, compelling narratives that influence decision-making.
• Proven success partnering cross-functionally and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
