[Hiring] Senior Data Engineer @Avenga

Role Description

We are actively seeking a professional to strengthen our team and support the design, development, and modernization of data solutions within the Google Cloud ecosystem. In this role, you will work with BigQuery, Dataform, Python, and SQL to:

• Build and optimize data pipelines
• Drive ETL migration initiatives
• Implement automation and governance best practices
• Support the integration of cloud and on-premises environments
• Contribute to advanced reporting and analytics capabilities

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, particularly BigQuery and Dataform, including:
• Data management and processing (data modeling, data pipelines, SQL development)
• Process control and automation (orchestration, CI/CD, monitoring)
• User access and permissions management
• Integration between cloud-based and on-premises applications (e.g., Landing Zone → BigQuery)
• Authentication and authorization mechanisms
• Strong expertise in Python and SQL, including implementation, optimization, and automation of migration processes, testing, and regression testing.
• Experience with Informatica and the migration of ETL processes to BigQuery/Dataform is considered a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with QLIK and equivalent solutions available within the GCP ecosystem is a plus.
• Good command of German and English, both written and spoken.

Requirements

• Design and develop scalable data solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a focus on BigQuery and Dataform.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain data models, SQL code, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data transformation processes.
• Support the migration of ETL workflows from Informatica to BigQuery/Dataform, including the automation of migration, testing, and regression testing activities using Python and SQL.
• Implement and maintain orchestration, CI/CD processes, monitoring solutions, user access management, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
• Support integrations between GCP and on-premises systems, and contribute to the modernization of reporting and analytics solutions.
