[Hiring] Senior Analytics Engineer @Virta Health

Role Description

We’re looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to build the trusted data models and analytics capabilities that help Virta operate and improve care at scale. This is a hands-on technical role working alongside other data & analytics engineers with both engineering and business stakeholders. You will write SQL and dbt models, develop shared LookML, investigate data discrepancies, and ship tested solutions into production. Your work will connect source-system behavior to clear, reliable business meaning.

Our stack includes BigQuery, dbt Cloud, and Looker/LookML. Near-term priorities include:

• Advancing our data and Looker modernization
• Expanding self-service analytics
• Building governed data capabilities & a semantic layer for agents and AI

You will partner with experienced teammates and stakeholders to understand requirements, make technical decisions, and own implementation through rollout and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable analytical models.
• Develop shared semantics and self-service analytics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related technical role.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong data-modeling judgment.
• Substantial hands-on experience with dbt.
• Experience developing LookML views, Explores, dimensions, and measures.
• Experience with BigQuery or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
• Strong software engineering practices for data work.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into reusable technical solutions.
• Strong debugging skills and experience tracing data issues.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools.

Bonus Points

• Experience migrating analytical models or BI platforms.
• Experience building semantic layers or data tools for AI agents.
• Experience preparing reusable datasets for ML.
• Experience with GCP, dbt Cloud, orchestration tools.
• Experience working with healthcare or other sensitive data.

Compensation

Virta has a location-based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. For this role, the compensation range is $161,500 - $209,000.
