Role Description
As a Senior Analytics Engineer at Cherry, you will be a founding member of our Analytics Engineering function. You will play a pivotal role in our data strategy, creating and maintaining scalable data models that drive optimized data integrity, usability, and consistency.
- Create and maintain intermediate data models that optimize the retrieval of data for analytics purposes.
- Develop and implement data structures that align with the organization's data strategy and requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts and business stakeholders, to understand data needs and requirements.
- Actively participate in discussions to gather insights and provide technical perspectives on data-related projects.
- Design and implement database solutions to ensure data integrity, security, and optimal performance.
- Work on continuous improvements to enhance the efficiency and scalability of data systems.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field (strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of SQL and demonstrated ability to write efficient SQL queries.
- Experience with the modern data stack, specifically dbt (we also use Snowflake, Fivetran and Airflow)
- Familiarity with a variety of Business Intelligence (BI) tools and experience in distributing data insights via reports and dashboards.
- Track record of shipping high-quality products and features at scale.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly improving startup environment, focusing on solving problems with iterative technical solutions.
Requirements
- Strong perspective on analytics engineering development cycle, including data modeling, version control, documentation + testing, and best practices for codebase development.
- Previous experience within the payments and financial technology space.
