[Hiring] Senior Analyst, Cost Optimization Services @Enverus

Role Description

Cost Optimization Services (COS) is an operating-cost intelligence and benchmarking engagement that helps E&P operators understand where their well and production costs sit relative to market peers, and why. As a Senior Analyst on the COS team, you will:

• Lead diagnostic cost analysis, benchmarking studies, and strategic cost reviews for major operators, turning them into actionable insights.
• Work directly with C-suite and operations leadership to answer complex cost questions.
• Conduct independent, high-quality technical analysis across a wide range of cost structures.
• Engage effectively with various client personas (CFO, VP of Operations, Cost Management leads).

Performance Objectives

• Deliver quarterly Executive Briefings that diagnose cost drivers and benchmark performance against market peers.
• Produce quarterly cost datasets and analytical dashboards to enable clients to track and act on cost optimization opportunities.
• Conduct diagnostic cost analysis that identifies the "why" behind cost variance.
• Validate operator and vendor cost claims using rigorous data interrogation and cost reconciliation.
• Support clients between briefings through ad hoc analysis and refining cost models based on client feedback.
• Build new analytical workflows where no established method exists.
• Standardize and document best practices and analytical workflows.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in methods, deliverables, and client experience.
• Compile and communicate cost analysis results in various media.
• Lead technical portions of briefing calls and in-person meetings with clients.
• Mentor and guide junior colleagues and support technical requirements for the broader Intelligence team.
• Partner with Intelligence Research, Product, Sales, and Customer Success teammates.
• Identify gaps in Enverus products related to client cost analysis.
• Support advisory business development by turning analytical work into case studies.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Actuarial Science.
• 6 to 11 years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of 3 years of direct experience with drilling, completion, or production operations or costs.

Requirements

• Deep, applied knowledge of drilling and completion cost structures and production costs.
• Familiarity with how operators and vendors account for, invoice, and report costs.
• Advanced knowledge in data analysis, cost benchmarking, and diagnostic methodology.
• Advanced proficiency with data management and analytical tools such as Excel, Access/SQL databases, and Enverus Prism™.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work directly with C-suite and operations leadership.
• Regular travel to client sites as engagements require.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of economic analysis functions (for example, NPV and IRR).
• Professional designation (CFA, MBA, P.Eng., P.Geo.).
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Spotfire, Tableau, PowerBI).
• Experience with programming languages or databases (VBA, Python, SQL).
