  • Apply sound research methods to gather, clean, code, analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data, with attention to accuracy, consistency, methodological rigour and appropriate use of data.
  • Synthesize patterns, themes and connections across survey results, operational data, market research and external trends to explain what the data may mean for GGC’s strategy, programs and member experience.
  • Monitor external trends relevant to Girl Guides of Canada, including volunteerism, youth activities, gender, social trends and non-profit sector developments, and identify implications for strategic and operational decision making.

  • Tell compelling stories grounded in evidence by connecting data points, explaining the β€œso what,” and highlighting opportunities, risks and recommended next steps.
  • Use AI-enabled tools thoughtfully and responsibly to support research, analysis, synthesis and communication, while following organizational expectations for privacy, accuracy, transparency and human review.
  • Identify opportunities to improve survey infrastructure, reporting processes, data quality and insight-sharing practices, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Provide guidance to internal teams on research design, data collection and interpretation, including helping colleagues frame questions, understand findings and use insights appropriately.
  • Apply organizational policies and values related to inclusivity, accessibility, privacy and respectful member communication in all research and reporting activities.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, business, data analysis, psychology, sociology, research methods or other relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in research, data analysis, business intelligence, evaluation, market research, survey analysis or a related field, including experience independently managing components of research or insight projects.
  • Experience contributing to market research, audience research, segmentation, evaluation or insight projects that inform organizational decision making is an asset.
  • Experience designing, disseminating, analyzing and reporting on surveys, interviews, focus groups or other research activities.
  • Strong technical research and analytical skills, including the ability to work with quantitative and qualitative data, identify patterns, assess data limitations and summarize findings accurately.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to connect insights across data sources and explain why findings matter for decisions, priorities, risks or future opportunities.
  • Curious, thoughtful and proactive in asking good questions, exploring ambiguity and identifying opportunities for deeper analysis or improved understanding.
  • Ability to create clear, visually engaging presentations, reports and dashboards that communicate data findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong storytelling skills, including the ability to move from data points to key messages, implications and recommended next steps.
  • Collaborative working style, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships and act as a trusted thought partner across teams.
  • Responsible and AI-conscious approach to using emerging tools, including attention to privacy, bias, accuracy, transparency, data sensitivity and appropriate human judgment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple tasks, timelines and priorities.
  • Able to identify problems, flag risks or data limitations, propose practical solutions and communicate issues concisely and constructively.
  • Self-driven learners who can work independently, take ownership of assigned work and contribute effectively as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint; experience with Power BI, survey platforms (specifically Alchemer) or AI-enabled productivity tools is an asset.

Benefits

  • Annual Hiring Range: $65,000-$72,000
  • Application Deadline: October 20, 2026. Submissions without a cover letter will not be considered.
