[Hiring] Principal Business Analyst @Mission Lane

Role Description

We're looking for a Principal Business Analyst to shape how new customers find Mission Lane, reporting to the Director of Growth.

The impact you'll make:

• Decide where and how we spend to ensure more people find Mission Lane when they are ready for their next step.
• Manage test investments at a meaningful scale, weighing the credit risk on each one.
• Run the day-to-day strategy and relationship with one of our biggest affiliate partners.

As Principal Business Analyst, Growth, you will:

• Design and size acquisition tests, making the call on how big a swing is worth taking.
• Analyze credit risk before a launch, determining the downside of underperformance.
• Own third-party relationships, managing the day-to-day operations of our external partnerships.
• Optimize performance by working with acquisition partners on placement, pricing, and data terms.
• Monitor live tests to track performance in real-time.
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and marketing.
• Communicate strategy and results directly with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a highly analytical role.
• Experience in the financial services industry.
• A bachelor's or master's degree in economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, or a similarly quantitative field, with a strong academic record.
• A track record of solving open-ended business problems.
• Comfort working in SQL, Python, or similar tools for data analysis.
• Ability to travel ~4–6+ times per year for high-quality in-person collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with credit cards or other consumer lending products.
• Experience helping scale a business in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Strong SQL or Python skills.
• Experience using AI coding assistants (Claude, Codex, Gemini, Cursor, etc.).

Compensation

• Annual full-time starting base salary range: $118,000 - $135,000.
• This role is eligible for additional compensation in the forms of participation in our annual incentive and equity programs.
• Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role.
