[Hiring] Lead Analytics Engineer, Borrowing @Monzo

Role Description

• Joint accounts
• Accounts for 16-17 year olds

We’re looking for a Lead Analytics Engineer within our borrowing team to help build world-class service for the bank of the future. You will play a critical role in overseeing our foundational data platforms, identifying and driving opportunities to enhance our current capabilities.

You’ll play a key role by:

• Serving as a data architect for Monzo’s Borrowing data, contributing to the design and scalability of data models.
• Developing robust data models downstream of backend services, primarily in BigQuery.
• Being a key voice in shaping and maintaining best practices for our Data Warehouse.
• Collaboratively setting standards and working with data across Monzo.
• Contributing to prioritising data governance issues.
• Championing central platform initiatives to elevate data standards across Borrowing and beyond.

Qualifications

• You have a strong passion for data modelling, ETL projects, and Big Data.
• You enjoy working with data streams from various services.
• SQL and data modelling are second nature to you.
• You are committed to continuous improvement.
• You have experience building robust and reliable data sets.
• You enjoy working with cross-functional fast-moving teams.
• You can think strategically about credit products.
• You are excited about enabling other data professionals.
• You have the ability to shape big, ambiguous data domains.
• You can manage the technical roadmap of an entire domain.
• You excel in cross-functional stakeholder communication.

Requirements

• Strong experience in data architecture and analytics.
• Proficiency in SQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience with BigQuery and other data tools.
