[Hiring] Junior Data Analyst @Oxford Global Resources

Role Description

We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to support our Data Operations team through managing helpdesk requests, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and maintaining clear, accurate documentation. This role is ideal for an early-career analyst who enjoys problem-solving, working with stakeholders, and building a strong foundation in analytics and data operations.

The ideal candidate brings a customer-service mindset, basic T-SQL skills, and experience or interest in Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric, along with a desire to learn and grow in a data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Operations Helpdesk Support:
  • Serve as a first point of contact for helpdesk inquiries, responding to stakeholders with professionalism, clarity, and urgency.
  • Troubleshoot data issues related to reports, dashboards, pipelines, and data quality.
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately and collaborate with senior analysts or engineers.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA):
  • Investigate data issues to identify root causes.
  • Analyze data discrepancies, reporting issues, and refresh failures.
  • Document findings and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements to reduce future incidents.
• Documentation & Knowledge Management:
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for data processes and known issues.
  • Contribute to knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure documentation is current, accurate, and accessible to stakeholders.
• Data & Reporting Support:
  • Create and modify T-SQL queries for data validation and analysis.
  • Assist with Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric reports, datasets, and semantic models.
  • Support report testing, validation, and deployment activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Basic T-SQL experience (e.g., SELECT statements, joins, filters, simple aggregations).
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Prior experience in a helpdesk, support, or operations role.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Salesforce).
• Experience documenting processes or creating user-facing documentation.
• Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
• Exposure to Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric (academic, internship, or professional).

Salary Information

$60,000.00-$75,000.00 Annual
