Role Description

At Dreamix, we are looking for a Databricks Champion with strong data engineering expertise to drive best practices, optimize data solutions, and promote the effective use of Databricks across our projects. • Drive Databricks best practices and adoption across data engineering initiatives.
• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using the medallion architecture.
• Work hands-on with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
• Optimize pipeline performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Establish standards for data quality, testing, monitoring, and pipeline observability.
• Ensure data governance, security, access control, and compliance.
• Define reusable architectural patterns and engineering standards for data solutions.
• Collaborate with AI Engineers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products.
• Evaluate new Databricks features and identify opportunities to improve platform capabilities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor engineers on data engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering.
• Databricks certification is mandatory, alongside strong hands-on experience with the platform.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong knowledge of Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse architecture.
• Experience building and optimizing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with data streaming technologies such as Kafka.
• Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and medallion architecture.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and data quality practices.
• Proven ability to establish technical standards, share knowledge, and guide engineering teams.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
