[Hiring] Data Engineer III @RTX

Role Description

The Business Analytics team in Raytheon Digital Technology Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality is looking for a data engineer focused on the development and deployment of data-driven systems solutions designed to improve performance in the planning and execution of our business.

• Analyze source enterprise resource planning (ERP) system information.
• Curate and develop complex datasets that achieve business objectives while meeting data engineering best-practices.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders and analysts within operations, supply chain, quality, and other core execution functions.
• Identify supply and demand risks and provide recommendations through performant and trusted data products and complex data models.
• Participate in building various business critical solutions and solve unique business problems that arise on an ad-hoc basis.

The ideal candidate needs to be passionate about proper data engineering standards with an analytical mindset to drive action through facts and data. They should possess the ability to effectively organize and distill data, proactively ask appropriate questions to understand hypotheses and requests, and analyze and communicate complex data in a compelling manner to a variety of audiences.

The candidate will have the opportunity to build strong partnerships and networks across the organization to learn the Raytheon business and grow in a fast-paced environment.

• Develop and optimize complex batch and near-real-time SQL queries to meet product requirements and business needs.
• Architect, implement, deploy, and maintain data-driven solutions in Snowflake and Databricks.
• Develop and manage data pipeline supporting multiple reports, tools, and applications.
• Conduct advanced statistical analysis to yield actionable insights, identify correlations/trends, measure performance, and visualize disparate sources of data.
• Lead and engage in requirement planning, trainings, and presentations with technical and non-technical teams.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Strong experience with Snowflake and relational SQL database design, implementation, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with data cleansing, curation, manipulation, mining, and analysis across disparate systems.
• Practical experience with Git-based configuration control and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).

Requirements

• Degree in a technical field (CS, engineering, math, economics) and strong SQL-based ETL/ELT expertise.
• Experience with Python (Pandas), schema/deployment tools (SchemaChange, Liquibase), and data orchestration platforms (Snowflake Tasks, ADF, Matillion, etc.).
• Knowledge of data modeling, Agile development, API-driven data solutions, and relational web app databases.
• Proficiency with analytics and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, advanced Excel) and statistical/ML concepts.
• Experience with manufacturing, supply chain, or operations systems; familiarity with ERP/MRP tools (SAP, Kinaxis).
