Role Description

Flexion is looking for a Data Engineer for an enterprise-level application development project. In this role, you must possess excellent problem-solving skills and deep technical knowledge, with a strong aptitude for understanding the focus, scope, and impact of your work in a broader, forward-looking software landscape.

We are looking for a Data Engineer particularly strong on the backend. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, you will:

• Deliver scalable, high-performance data solutions that support operational systems, reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
• Drive automation and monitor data platform health.
• Support the modernization and continuous improvement of data systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Development experience
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
• Expertise in SQL and one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala)
• Experience designing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions
• Strong knowledge of relational, NoSQL, and cloud-native databases
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and modern data services
• Knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and lakehouse architectures
• Experience implementing data quality, governance, security, and metadata management
• Performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting of large-scale data systems
• Databricks experience
• Experience with Test Driven Development, automated unit testing, and end-to-end testing
• Superb time-management, communication, and problem-solving skills
