Position: Claims Analytics Manager

Location: Remote (PA)

Duration: Long term Contract

As a member of our TPA Operations team, the Manager, TPA Business Analytics will lead a team of Analytics and Metrics Specialists responsible for the data analysis and reporting of PMA Management Corp. The Assistant Manager will have responsibility for:

• Setting the strategy for the team and developing new analytic capabilities.
• Partnering with members of Operations, Sales, Service, and Claims Leadership to define and advance objectives.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing, planning, and managing the execution of business metrics and analytics transformation initiatives.
• Driving reporting functionality and business insights from data analysis.
• Providing actionable recommendations based on data analysis for operational improvement and efficiency.
• Defining and managing project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Evaluating broker portals and digital sales platforms for lead generation and new business development.
• Developing staff to respond to current and anticipated departmental needs.
• Providing business and technical expertise for the analytics process, tools, and applications for PMAMC.
• Partnering with other PMA leaders on large-scale strategic projects and ongoing operational activities.
• Analyzing business KPIs and metrics for effective decision-making in claims, sales, and service functions.
• Overseeing the production and distribution of senior management reports and presentations.
• Engaging in continuous learning of the TPA business environment to improve organizational outcomes.
• Supporting the Actuarial department in developing profitability analysis by line of business.
• Ensuring high levels of customer service across strategic initiatives and business insight teams.
• Identifying and recommending opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency in analytics strategy.
• Overseeing the design, implementation, and best practices of SharePoint sites and applications.
• Promoting effective communication among work groups and between management and employees.
• Demonstrating commitment to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Qualifications

• BS in Mathematics, Economics, Business, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics, or equivalent professional experience (5+ years in the insurance industry).
• MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• Experience with analytics in the commercial casualty insurance industry required.
• Experience with analytics in the workers compensation insurance industry strongly preferred.
• Background in TPA, Insurance, and Claims strongly preferred.
• Experience with data modeling strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing, leading, coaching, and developing a team of analytics professionals preferred.
• Excellent customer service and collaboration skills gained through previous work experience.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office Product Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent Excel and MS Access skills required; knowledge of HTML, SQL, VBA preferred.
• Proficiency with Power BI strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of SharePoint 365/SharePoint Online platform functionality preferred.
• Solid understanding of communication and collaboration technologies.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Exceptional project management skills.
• Ability to challenge the status quo and work under ambiguous circumstances.
• Ability to work in a matrixed environment and collaborate with others considering the needs of all affected groups.
• Ability to build/leverage relationships across functions to achieve business results.
• Strong execution ability and sense of urgency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel for business purposes (approximately 15%).
