[Hiring] Business Intelligence Analyst @Carrington Mortgage

Role Description

Responsible for developing and maintaining moderately complex reports and dashboards, performing in-depth data analysis, and identifying trends to support decision-making within the Mortgage Lending Division (“MLD”). Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and improve reporting processes. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, investor guidelines, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. This mid-level role requires a solid understanding of business operations, data structures, and BI tools.

The target pay range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000.

• Collaborate with business units to gather reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting requirements as needed and ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the reporting requirements (i.e., HMDA, Fair Lending Analysis, state, and federal required reporting) also assist in responding to findings and provide supporting data to internal committee.
• Analyze data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Perform data validation and analysis of all reportable data to ensure accuracy and develop exception reports.
• Develop and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, SSRS, SQL, etc.).
• Automate manual reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
• Responsible for supporting the development of a data dictionary for Mortgage Lending data and properly documenting the procedures and process of reports developed.
• Provide training and support business users on reporting tools.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, SSRS).
• Intermediate knowledge of Power BI, SSRS, and SQL.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and provide insights.
• Team-player with strong communication and interpersonal skills possess a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
• A strong working knowledge of residential mortgage lending data and/or terminology.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to translate business questions into analytical queries and visualizations.
• Experience with Agile or project-based work environments (e.g., Jira).
• Experience developing and maintaining data dictionaries or business glossaries.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent job experience in business intelligence, report development, data analysis, data integration or information management. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
• Two (2) to four (4) years’ experience as a Business Reporting Analyst I and/or similar role.
• A minimum of two (2) years in the Residential Mortgage Industry experience.
• Microsoft Power BI Certification is preferred.
