Role Description
This Business Analyst role lives within the customer engagement arm of the Granicus’ Digital Services Implementation Team and is a key member of the Implementation Services (IS) team. This team helps customers (government agencies) create valued online services, and partners with customers to enhance the way that government organizations support their communities through strategic experience management.
As a Business Analyst, you will bridge the gap between our government clients' business needs and the technical capabilities of the AMANDA software platform. Your role will involve:
- Working closely with government clients and stakeholders to understand their specific processes, objectives, and challenges.
- Eliciting, documenting, and prioritizing clear and actionable requirements for AMANDA software implementations and enhancements within the gov tech sector.
- Analyzing and mapping current and future government processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Creating detailed business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and process flow diagrams tailored to government agencies.
- Ensuring that requirements are comprehensive, well-structured, and aligned with both government expectations and software capabilities.
- Facilitating effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Coordinating with software developers, project managers, and QA teams to accurately translate government business requirements into software features.
- Participating in the testing and validation of AMANDA software solutions for government agencies.
- Collaborating with QA teams to develop and execute test plans, ensuring comprehensive coverage of government-specific scenarios.
- Staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements within the gov tech sector.
- Identifying opportunities for software enhancements and process improvements based on government user feedback and evolving needs.
Qualifications
- Bilingual (English and French) – required
- Proven experience of 5 years as a Business Analyst, preferably working with AMANDA software or similar enterprise solutions within the gov tech sector.
- Strong understanding of business process analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation within government contexts.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with government clients, developers, and project teams.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and project management concepts.
- Proficiency in using requirement management tools and software documentation platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to manage conflict and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Proactive and data-driven.
- Experience working with remote teams.
Requirements
- Responsible for Granicus information security by appropriately preserving the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of Granicus information assets.
- Responsible for ensuring the data privacy of our employees and customers, their data, as well as taking all required privacy training in a timely manner.
- Must be willing and able to obtain/maintain a Secret-level security clearance through the Government of Canada.
