Role Description
As a BI Developer, specializing in Power BI, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the data consumption strategy for our clients. You will be responsible for designing and developing data models, architecting the consumption layer, and delivering high-impact visualizations and dashboards. Your work will guide data-driven decision-making across various industries, ensuring that data is transformed into actionable insights.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to clients.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into visualizations that drive decision-making.
- Support the end-to-end BI development lifecycle, including data extraction, transformation, modeling, and visualization.
- Articulate a clear vision for how data flows from sources through warehouse layers into the consumption layer and ensure that data models are optimized for performance and usability.
- Work with data engineering teams to design and implement robust data models in the consumption layer, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business requirements.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define and implement BI strategies that enhance data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Present insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
Qualifications
- Development of interactive and visually compelling dashboards and reports in Power BI (or any other industry-leading Business Intelligence tool).
- Best practices for Power BI, including data transformation (using Power Query), DAX formula optimization, and performance tuning (similar experience in a complementary BI tool will be considered).
- Experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and data architecture for the purpose of delivering BI products and/or analytical results.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating data.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling concepts, including star schema and snowflake schema.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Experience with one or more cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of other BI tools like Tableau or Qlik.
- Expertise with modern cloud data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Redshift, etc.
- Experience with Azure Synapse or Fabric.
- Experience building ML models using ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn).
- Experience with Generative AI models and applications.
