Role Description

The Data Scientist 2 uses mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions. The Data Scientist 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

• Develops, maintains, and collects structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting.
• Creates reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics.
• Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
• Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
• Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AND 2 years technical experience (model building, mathematical analytics, coding) OR Master's degree in related field.
• Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting.
• Experience in creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business.
• Experience in using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions.
• Possesses an understanding of department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
• Capable of making decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations.

Requirements

• Master's Degree (Preferred).
• Exposure to healthcare data or care management analytics (Preferred).
• Familiarity with lifecycle marketing and member engagement strategies (Preferred).
• Experience with data visualization platforms (Preferred).

Additional Information

• This position operates under Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
• This position MAY require some travel, 1-2 times a year.
• Work at Home Requirements: Minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
• While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40.
• Pay Range: $97,900 - $133,500 per year.
• This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based upon company and/or individual performance.
