[Hiring] Associate Data Scientist @Adelaide

Role Description

This position reports to the VP of Data Science and will help push forward the underlying models and data sets that create the AU, working closely with Product and Client Services to develop new data products and methodologies across all areas of the business.

In this role, you’ll be joining a team of data scientists and data engineers, collaborating across the organization to turn complex data into scalable products and meaningful insights. You’ll work with hundreds of millions of data points each day, supporting the development and iteration of models that improve advertising effectiveness and power the world’s first attention-based optimization platform.

Day-to-day activities include:

• Exploring new data sources and training new models
• Improving existing methodologies
• Refining pipelines
• Contributing to the continued evolution of our data science infrastructure

This is an ideal opportunity for someone excited to learn quickly, solve challenging problems, and gain hands-on experience building production-facing data products. This is a fully remote position within the United States, with opportunities to connect with colleagues at our New York office.

Qualifications

• Python proficiency and experience with data pipelines and modeling
• SQL for extracting data from cloud databases
• Understanding of classic ML algorithms: logistic regression, linear regression, RandomForests/XGBoost, clustering methods, and dimensionality reduction (e.g., PCA)
• Ability to investigate and analyze model performance
• Root-cause analysis skills for debugging dataset issues
• Comfort explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• A builder mentality — you find proven solutions, work smarter not harder, and take pride in shipping things that matter
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent professional experience

Requirements

• Experience shipping work to production
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Familiarity with AWS environments
• Adtech or marketing background
• Experience with Looker or similar BI tools
• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a quantitative field
• Intellectual curiosity and the ability to move fast while maintaining rigor
