[Hiring] Actuarial Analyst I @Everest

Role Description

The Actuarial Analyst will form a critical part of the International Reinsurance Reserving team, helping to enhance and develop its foundations and capabilities. The role will require an individual with strong actuarial, analytical and communication skills, and will involve interaction with multiple functional areas including underwriting, finance, compliance, claims, pricing, and senior management. The role reports to the Singapore Reserving Manager.

• Support the Singapore reinsurance reserving team in preparing detailed reserve adequacy studies in support of business underwritten across APAC, with potential support for other International locations (e.g., UK, Ireland, Middle East & Africa, Latin America & Brazil).
• Assist in quarterly closing tasks; validation of plan ELR amounts, actuarial versus expected and roll forward analysis.
• Assist in IFRS 17 best estimate liability annual calculations and local statutory reporting.
• Explore and develop new reserving approaches and methodologies.
• Participate in group wide projects to help improve reserving processes.
• Ensure collaboration with Pricing Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims and Financial Services.
• Timely delivery and communication of results.

Qualifications

• Student Actuary of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) or similar.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Maths, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business or a similar field.
• Recent graduate with preferably some initial P&C actuarial experience.
• Knowledge and experience of GI reserving and (ideally) reinsurance is an advantage.

Requirements

• Strong Excel skills are mandatory; Excel VBA, SQL, Python, etc. is a plus.
• Familiarity with ResQ is a plus.
• Good organisational skills and a strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
• A flexible and enthusiastic approach to work with a strong appetite to network, learn and develop.
• Able to work in a dynamic and agile environment, especially through remote setting.
