Role Description
The purpose of this position is to obtain prior authorizations or provide financial clearance for patients of Tidelands Health. This role is key to securing reimbursement and minimizing organizational write offs.
- Consistently demonstrate skilled communication and troubleshooting techniques
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills
- Anticipate and respond to a wide variety of issues/concerns
- Execute tasks efficiently and effectively
- Independently plan, schedule, and organize numerous tasks
- Impact hospital and physician reimbursement directly
- Responsible for accurate and complete insurance verification
- Provide financial clearance or prior authorizations
- Complete pre-registration of all scheduled clinic visits and office-based/provider procedures
Work environment may be on-site, hybrid, or remote depending on TH system needs and is subject to change.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
- At least one (1) year of experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle that includes prior authorization
- Experience in EPIC preferred
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare and third-party payer regulations and guidelines highly desired
Requirements
- Ability to interact successfully with the public
- Perform effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities
- Maintain personal composure in high-stress situations
- Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills required to interact with patients, patients’ families/visitors, and clinical staff
- Perform with a high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
- Strong ability to use initiative and judgment to identify, analyze, and solve problems
