Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Virtual Medical Receptionist / Patient Coordinator to support a busy Optometry practice. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in an eye care setting who understands the day-to-day workflow of an optometry office, including:

• Patient scheduling
• Routine eye exams
• Specialty appointments
• Optical services
• Delivering exceptional patient care

As the first point of contact for patients, you will be responsible for:

• Managing a high volume of inbound calls
• Scheduling appointments
• Answering patient inquiries
• Ensuring every interaction reflects the professionalism and high standards of the practice

Because this is a phone-intensive role, candidates must have:

• Excellent English communication skills
• Clear pronunciation
• Little to no noticeable accent

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in an Optometry medical office
• Previous experience scheduling patients in an Optometry practice
• Bilingual English and Spanish
• Excellent English communication skills with little to no noticeable accent
• Experience handling high-volume inbound patient calls
• Strong appointment scheduling experience
• Professional, friendly, and confident phone presence
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Requirements

• Experience using Crystal Practice Manager
• Experience using the Weave phone system
• Knowledge of optical and vision care workflows
• Experience scheduling routine eye exams, contact lens appointments, and specialty eye care services
• Experience verifying vision and medical insurance benefits
• Previous experience supporting multiple providers in a busy practice

Benefits

• This is a part-time contractor position (32-33 hours per week)
• Pay rate of $6 - $7 per hour depending on skillset and experience
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, aligned with U.S. business hours
