[Hiring] Billing Support Clerk I @Myriad Genetics

Role Description

The Billing Support Clerk I assists in obtaining and submitting medical records and/or other forms and correspondence as needed for payors and healthcare providers.

• Process appeals, return mail and fax correspondence, route phone calls, resolve claim errors, and initiate bills for patient copays and deductibles.
• Post explanations of benefits, electronic remittance, and patient checks to individual accounts in the billing system.
• Interact with patients, clinicians, insurers, and internal management in a timely and professional manner.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance plan.
• Comply with applicable CLIA and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 1+ years of experience working in a medical office, laboratory, health insurance, or collections setting.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and professional, with the ability to work to meet daily and monthly deadlines.
• Ability to type 40 words per minute and possess excellent computer skills.
• Working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding preferred.

Requirements

• Lifting Requirements – light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
• Physical Requirements – stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, pushing or pulling, and reaching.
• Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
