Role Description

The Waldorf University Admissions Counselor is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to prospective students throughout the entire admissions and enrollment process. This position supports prospective students from initial inquiry through each step of the admissions process, including application submission, document collection, and final enrollment. Under the direction of the Director of Online Admissions, the role ensures smooth transitions for students, guiding them from application submission through enrollment completion. The Admissions Counselor also provides timely assistance, answers questions, and ensures that all necessary steps are completed efficiently to facilitate a successful student onboarding experience.

Essential Job Tasks

• Manages and maintains comprehensive lists of prospective students, setting and following up on appointments to ensure timely communication of admissions and application submission information.
• Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies to drive enrollment in assigned programs, including planning and executing communication activities.
• Maintains proficiency in relaying Waldorf’s programmatic offerings to accurately portray the entire admission and enrollment processes.
• Aids in application submission for potential students by accurately entering and reviewing student information in an internal database.
• Secures enrollment from prospective students by assisting them over the phone or in the prospect portal.
• Reviews student information and transcripts to determine eligibility for acceptance and calculating GPAs for incoming applicants.
• Assists with related and/or unrelated areas of the department as needed.
• Handles confidential information in a professional manner.
• Promotes, maintains, and enhances workplace culture within the Admissions Department and Waldorf University.
• Provides clear, accurate, and concise communication to prospective students by phone, e-mail, chat, and text.
• Returns any missed call, e-mail, or text from prospective students within 24-48 hours.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in higher education admissions, customer service, or sales is preferred.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) and student information systems (SIS) or related software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
