[Hiring] Senior Risk and Controls Associate @RBS

Role Description

Join us as a Senior Risk & Controls Associate. We'll look to you to support, develop and embed the risk and control mechanisms for the business, independently overseeing and challenging the effective management of risks and controls.

Supporting the design, implementation and ongoing delivery of our risk framework and processes, you’ll work with stakeholders to drive compliance with key regulatory and policy requirements, and provide risk and control advice. Broaden your regulatory knowledge and understanding and develop in a strategic, proactive role which supports the management of the bank's risk profile.

What you'll do:

• Act as a subject matter expert and help develop, manage and implement compliance and conduct policies for products and services.
• Partner with business stakeholders in Product or Operations to design and implement innovative solutions that meet business needs while ensuring compliance with risk appetite.
• Provide guidance and support in relation to risk and control management, ensuring regulatory obligations and internal governance requirements are met.
• Ensure appropriate customer and conduct outcomes for POS Lending, Unsecured Personal Loans or Savings products through processes and controls.
• Support the design, implementation and ongoing application of a risk-based controls framework.
• Manage regulatory risk, including identification, interpretation and implementation of regulatory requirements.
• Risk partner to support resolution of ad-hoc events and incidents exposing the business to unanticipated risk.
• Partner with a product or functional team to support development of compliant and controlled products, features, and services.
• Act as an interface with wider NatWest stakeholders, including senior risk colleagues in the design and implementation of risk-driven priorities, policies, and processes.
• Develop and embed key Risk MI, including maintaining an up-to-date RAID log and escalating issues to Risk & Controls Lead and/or Chief Risk Officer as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Ability to risk partner Product and/or Operational teams to launch new products and/or services.
• Experience in a compliance, conduct or risk management role or similar relevant experience.
• Knowledge of the regulatory environment and its frameworks.
• Experience interpreting regulatory rules and regulations, such as BCOBs, Consumer Credit Act, Consumer Duty.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.

• Ability to convey complex information and ideas clearly to stakeholders.
• Confidence to influence and challenge senior risk stakeholders in the interpretation and implementation of internal policy and regulatory requirements.
• Experience of working in a customer experience and/or customer design-led thinking environment.
• Evidence of supporting the development of Lending and/or Savings products with an understanding of applicable regulations.
